Meet Our Owner

​Ellen Nelson, Owner of Peas in a Pod Preschool and Child Care

​I have Working in the early childhood field since 2000.  I started by working at Little Hands Preschool in Roseville.  We became the first accredited facility in all of Placer County while I was working as the assistant teacher.  I have owned and operated Peas in a Pod since 2003.  In 2007 I became one of the first accredited facilities in Lincoln.  I was accredited by the NAFCC.  I have my Master Teacher Permit and regularly attend professional growth trainings to help me stay focused and give the best care possible to the children enrolled.  I am currently enrolled in Sac State and working on obtaining my BA in Early Childhood Education. I am also currently involved in Early Quality Matters, a grant and program through PCOE and First Five of California that will focus on quality of care. I have taught at conferences and also trainings from LA to Grass Valley.  I was also a Mentor for PCOE for several years.  I helped new and existing providers establish and revitalize their programs.  I am the mother of four beautiful children and have been married to the love of my life since 2000.  I am also very involved in the community and our local schools.  I served on the PTO board at Foskett Ranch Elementary, I love working with children and helping them have a successful start to their education.
